HARRISBURG, PA -- The Harrisburg City Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Brian Devlin "Sushi" for the 2008 season. Returning for this second year, with a Championship under his belt, Devlin proved to be a strong addition to the 2007 squad.

"We are excited to have Sushi back for us in 2008. Last year he impressed us with his strong work rate and ability on the ball," remarked Coach Bill Becher. "His contributions were great both on and off the field and we look forward to more of that this season."

The former Penn State stand out contributed two assists in his first season with the Islanders. While playing in an attacking midfield role his assist on Steve Fisher's goal during the August 18th victory over Cleveland took the Islanders into the Championship game.

Devlin's Penn State resume includes All-Big Ten First Team his sophomore season. He was also selected for the conference's Second Team in both 2004 and 2005. He was a two time All-Mid Atlantic pick. Devlin served as co-captain his senior year and took the Lions to an undefeated season in the Big Ten for the first time in school history.

The City Islanders welcome Devlin back to Harrisburg after spending the off season with the Baltimore Blast of the MISL.
