BALTIMORE, MD -- Crystal Palace Baltimore is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder/forward Kevin King. The 26 year old Kingston native joins Palace after playing the past two years with reigning Jamaican national champions, Harbour View FC.

King won two Jamaican league titles with Harbour ViewWhile attending Tyler Junior College in Texas, King was named to the 2002 NSCAA Junior College Men’s All-America team along with future Palace teammate Ibrahim Kante. King subsequently transferred to the University of South Florida where he was a regular starter during his junior and senior years.

Co-manager and President Pete Medd looked forward to King’s contributions: “We’re really pleased to have Kevin with us. He’s a very intelligent player, crafty and creative – and he’s an extremely hard worker. He brings valuable experience coming from the top club in Jamaica and having represented his country at youth level. We’ve already seen in pre-season that his natural connection with fellow countryman Gary Brooks will be a great asset. We’ll be looking to him to be a game breaker.”

“Kevin was training with us last year before we went to England for the friendly,” added Co-manager and Sporting Director Jim Cherneski, “but unfortunately he couldn’t travel with us due to paperwork. He’s incredibly skillful and smart and he loves to take on opposing players one-on-one. We’re glad to have such an established professional as Kevin on the squad.”
